Maintaining the finish of your cabinets
StyleCraft believes that your dream home should
be beautiful for a Lifetime. That's why we construct quality cabinets
that are not only beautiful but also easy to maintain.
The maintenance of StyleCraft cabinets is very simple.
Because we use an advanced wood protectant called a "catalyzed
varnish," your wood's natural beauty and shine can remain
factory new for years with very little attention. This varnish
withstands the effects of water and common household chemicals
like alcohol and mineral spirits, as well as the corrosiveness
of certain foods like mustard and ketchup. It is considered so
effective when combating these harmful substances that it meets
the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association standards. The protectant
combines two components before application and results in a hard,
durable, and dazzling finish. Even our cabinets that are referred
to as "painted" are finished with a pigmented catalyzed
varnish. Whenever you are shopping for kitchen or bath cabinets,
be certain that they are finished with this protectant; many small,
local shops spray only traditional lacquer furniture finishes,
and they simply do not wear as well. We've taken this extra measure
to ensure easy maintenance and a long, beautiful life for your
wood products.
Since we believe that fine woodwork should be considered,
to a certain extent, a delicate material requiring a gentle touch,
we want to help you maintain its beauty, richness, and elegance.
In caring for your cabinets, you need only wipe them about once
a month with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaning solution such
as Fantastic or Spic and Span Pine Cleaner. Should you find a
stain remaining after using these products, just increase the
intensity of the cleaning solution. Be careful to limit the amount
of solution that runs into the cracks of the door where the panels
meet the frames.
Maintaining the luster and shine is an important
factor when keeping your woodwork looking like new. Choose a non
buildup product like Pledge or Lemon Wood Plus to bring out the
dazzle in your favorite furniture pieces. Be sure to choose your
cleaners carefully. Do not, under any circumstances, use anything
abrasive like a cleanser or soft scrub, as these cleaners will
scratch, dull, and potentially even shorten the life of the finish.
Do not use a product like Liquid Gold, as the buildup will change
the color of the finish. If you have cabinets that are white or
a light color, polishing is not recommended.
With very little attention, your StyleCraft cabinets
will remain beautiful for years to come. If you have particular
questions or concerns about the care and keeping of your cabinetry
and/or woodwork, please feel free to contact us.
